The monument plant blooms only one in its 20-80 year lifetime, then it dies. Groupings of plants all bloom together in unison. They are found in the mountains of the western United States. This one was seen blooming in Durango Colorado, hiking the Colorado Trail.
Specializing in landscape, my images are captured from the beauty that surrounds me every day. I am lucky to live in southwestern Colorado! As you'll see, I have access to colorful rock formations and lush deserts as well as expansive mountain vistas.
